James Wall and Michael Stockdale were both rewarded for fine early season form with selection in the VFL State squad that played the WAFL in Perth on Saturday. The two Scorpions did their club proud, both playing significant roles in the VFL's big win.

Stockdale was given the role of nullifying ex AFL player Andrew Krakouer, and did a great job on the dangerous forward while winning plenty of the ball himself. Stocky's disposal in wet and slippery conditions was immaculate.

Wally played a true utility's game, moving between defence, the wing and the odd stint in the ruck. As with Stocky he handled the tough conditions with aplomb, putting experience gained at Casey Fields to good use.

It's also good to note the Scorpions had a third VFL representative, with Strength and Conditioning Coach Alex Sakadjian making the trip as Assistant Fitness Coach and Team Runner. In his third year at Casey it is good recognition for the time, effort and knowledge Alex puts into his role ensuring the Scorps are in the best physical condition possible.
