Waite played Five season games for 2008 and finished third in the reserves best and fairest.  Waite’s best senior game for the year was against Bendigo where he polled a senior liston vote and had the better of fullback Mal Michael, in was in this game the leader journo Paul Amy, shouted the headline “Worth the Waite”. Waite said it was unfortunate that he had to go to China for the next two weeks for work commitments, as he had just started to belong.
