After 45 games of TAC football and two super consistent years, Michel Stockdale has joined the Casey Scorpions. Stockdale who was runner up in Gippsland’s best and fairest  last season was unlucky to miss out on the 2008 national draft. “I had no expectations I didn’t speak to any clubs”.  Stockdale said

Stockdale who can play all over the ground accumulated 500 possessions in the TAC cup last season averaging 22 possessions, six tackles and kicked 22 goals last season and not only kicked goals but saved them. Stockdale came to the attention of the media last season when he rushed four behinds in a row against the Geelong Falcons to ice the clock and win the game, Peter Francis (Gippsland RM) described it as one of the smartest things he had seen in football.

Football Manager Craig Lees was delighted to have Stockdale on board. “Stocky will have a big year in the VFL, his skills are super and he has that hard edge to him that makes him look ready for senior football, he has been training very hard and I’m looking forward to his continued development.”

Stockdale will make the trip up from Traralgon with newly signed player Ben MaCreadie. MaCredie has dominated the NGFL with Rosedale for the last two seasons and looks ready to make the transition to the VFL.
