Lacko Joins Scorpions

Former VFA Champion Andrew Lacko has joined the Scorpions as an assistant coach. Lacko who played 133 games for Dandenong from 1986-1995 played under some terrific coaches in his carrer but describes Elshaug and Gotch the two men the influenced him the most. Lacko won two Best and Fairest in 1994-94 before crossing to Springvale in 1995, but due to injury he wasn’t able to get on the park for the scorpions. From there Lacko was a player assistant coach at Bayswater and Croydon before having a year at Frankston in 2001. Due to family commitments Andrew had time away from the game, but is extremely please to work closely with Peter German. Football manager Craig Lees was extremely pleased to have Andrew on board. ‘He lives in Cranbourne and watched the scorpions regularly since we moved to Casey Fields, he has a great understanding of the game and will be a great addition to our coaching staff. Lacko will look after the defences.
