Football manager Craig Lees was delighted to have the players back.  ‘We currently have about eight Gippsland payers training so slowly we slowly are enticing more Gippy boys to play with their aligned club, we are in a far better position than last year, as Beau Vernon was the only player form the 2007 list.  

Both Granger and Oldmeadow tasted senior VFL football in 2008 with Granger playing four with the bombers, while Oldmeadow made one appearance with Collingwood. After playing close to 30 TAC Cup games in 2006-07 both players are excited about the chance to play regular senior football with the newly aligned Scorpions/Melbourne connection.
