Brad Gotch Departs Scorpions

Brad Gotch departs Scorpions for Port Adelaide.

Casey Scorpions president, John Sharkie, took time today to recognise the contribution of departing coach, Bradley Gotch, who has accepted a line coaching position at AFL club Port Adelaide.

Gotch coached the Scorpions for the past two years, resulting in top-four positions.

In his frist appointment at the club, he also oversaw the 1996 premiership before moving on to roles with Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs.

"As much as we are saddened to se him go, we are absolutely delighted Brad has received this exciting and significant opportunity at Port Adelaide", Sharkie said. "It goes without saying that he leaves with our best wishes."

"He is a highly respected person at our football club and as a premiership coach he will always have a special place in our history and our hearts."

"But part of our role is providing a pathway for players, coaches and staff to develop and prehapsgo to the next level, so from that point of view we are pleased to have helped with Brad's progression to an AFL club."

"His departure opens up our coaching position and we are confident there is some very good candidates out there."

"We'd like to finalise the appointment sooner rather than later. But we will take the time to make sure we get the right person for the job."
