Casey Scorpions Key defender Alex Silvagni has been picked up by Fremantle in the 2009 rookie draft. Silvagni has been training with Fremantle since early November.

Silvagni pick 24 in the rookie draft will provide Fremantle the option of playing in defence or attack.

 Alex will be a huge loss to the Scorpions, however he thoroughly deserves his opportunity.

 The club wishes Alex the best for his AFL career.
