Scorps Fall Short against Williamstown
The impressive run of the Scorpions meant the this weeks game against top of the table seagulls, who were warm flag favourite at this stage was mouth watering for spectators. A very good turn out at Burbank Oval witnessed one of the better games for the season, and in a very evenly contested game of footy the game could have gone either way. The Scorpions were 10 points down going into the last term with a slight breeze behine their back, scores had been within 11 points at all the changes, and the crowd was really getting involved for both sides.

Williamstown lifted the intensity early in the last  to put on some early goals, it was the likes of Geary, Fisher, Birss and Mathews that really got the Scorpions firing in the last term, and  were able to get back to within a kick. A couple of late goals however blew the margin out to 16 points. A fantastic effort but showed some spots of the game to work on, no doubt the Scorpions will be keen to meet the seagulls again in September to give them a run for their money!!

Once again the young Scorpions reserves side came up against a stronger bigger Williamstown outfit, the effort and work rate was there, but the Scorpions weren’t able to keep up the pace for the whole game.  Gareth Snow handled himself extremely well down back and Steve O’Bryan and Peter Mercoulia were
working tirelessly in the middle.

Feature Article

Watching Adam Parker play footy is like watching a brickie on a job site. There's no fuss, no glamour, not ritz, just a bloke who knows what he has to do, and who's getting the job done.
