Scorpions Get the Double, and Saints make it a Treble. The Casey Scorpions outgunned a Bendigo Bombers line-up, (with plenty of Essendon listed players) on Sunday in arguably their best victory of the season....
It was a great day for the Club with the Reserves also winning, a big result, being away at Bendigo and on the road for the second week in a row. The Ressies set the tone for the day, playing an aggressive style jumped to an early lead in the second quarter, and were never headed. The seniors were working hard in the first half, but kicked long to packs in the forward line, and were behind at half time. With renewed vigour and smarter use of the ball (finding fellow Scorpions, unmanned or leading to space) the tide turned, and in a strong finish were too good for Bendigo. Kyle Matthews and defenders James Gwilt and Matthew Ferguson were the outstanding Scorpions on the day Sunday 2:00PM 24 June - Queen Elizabeth Oval
