The “Wayward” kicking in the first half of the Scorpions game against Port Melbourne reflected a windy day and some poor shots at goal (1-12).
However after the half time break, a ten goal quarter put the Scorpions well within reach, and they eventually ran out 39 point winners. Outstanding in defence were Jarryn Geary and Matt Ferguson, and the forward line pressure in the second half from Brett Voss, Kyle Matthews and Steve Harrison ensured the Scorpions were on the winning trail. Next week the Scorpions head to Tasmania for a Saturday game at Bellerive Oval. The reserves take on North Ballarat at Casey Fields on Sunday at 11.10am.
