The Casey Scorpions beat top side by one point in a thriller at Casey Fields on Sunday. The young Scorpions were jumped early by the top team, and by quarter time were down by six goals however, with a strong commitment by all players and lead by an outstanding defence, the Scorpions clawed there way back into the game.
Matthew Ferguson, James Gwilt and Jarryn Geary were setting up the game for our midfield, and Nigel Carmody & Troy Makepeace ensured the forwards were getting into the game. An exciting last quarter saw the Casey Scorpions hold out a determined Geelong by one point. The Scorpions are now looking forward to there next game against Coburg July 29th, and to further cementing a finals spot.
