WALL TO WEAR THE BIG V

How to turn disappointment into success?

Just ask James Wall. The key defender was last night awarded one the highest honors you can gain in the Victorian Football League, the privilege to wear the big V.

After the disappointment of being delisted by the Saints at the end of the 2007 season, Wall has if anything used it as a spur to play his best footy. The 198cm key defender has been a telling factor in why the Scorpions lead the league in defense after eight rounds in the Victorian Football League.  Wall has been an inspiration to the younger players around the football club, he has used his two previous years experience where he was on an AFL list to benefit the young Scorpions.Sample Image

Wall the Vice Captain of the Scorpions yesterday described it as “fantastic honor to make the 24, to get an opportunity to play with the best players in the VFL would be a real honor” he described the skill level at training as “electric and the ball hardly touched the ground, to train with players of Cloke’s, Johnson’s and James Podsiadly callable who have been terrific players of the VFL is going to be a real experience”.

Although this week will be a slight distraction Wall remains humble in his approach to AFL football. “I just need to play the best footy I can and if something comes my way at the end of the year then I’ll take it, if not as long as I have done everything I can to play good footy with the Scops, that’s all I can do” Wall is looking forward to the back half of the year with the Scorps and is positive about the second half of the year. “Hopefully we win enough games to make it (finals) but we have a tough month ahead (Geelong, Sandringham, Coburg) so we’ll just get though that first.

The football club congratulates Wally and commends him on his efforts thus far.

Feature Article

Watching Adam Parker play footy is like watching a brickie on a job site. There's no fuss, no glamour, not ritz, just a bloke who knows what he has to do, and who's getting the job done.
