The Club will play the full 20 matches throughout season 2008 with now 14 teams in the competition, as this will also mean there will be no weekly byes for clubs. The Scorpions fixture also takes into consideration our St. Kilda affiliate, which for the season we will see minimal clashes with to ensure supporters can get to both games if need be. 10 Games will be played at Home and therefore 10 games Away with the season opener on the 30th of March at against Sandringham at Trevor Barker Beach Oval. The Scorps are set to play 2 night matches at home in rounds 2 & 3, in a first for the club since moving Casey Fields. They will be played against Frankston and Box Hill respectively, both whom we have long lasting rivalries with. This is an exciting opportunity for the Club, and a great chance to showcase our facilities under lights. This year the Home and Away season will finish the same weekend as the AFL fixture and this will also see finals fixture played on the same weekends as AFL matches right through to Grand Final week where the game will be played the Friday night in a first for the oldest competition in Australia.
