Tim Mohr, at the age of 23, has finally found his place as a footballer, as a Giant with Greater Western Sydney. Tim has been pre-listed onto the Giants list for 2012 in their inaugural season in the AFL and we look forward to seeing him become a seasoned AFL footballer over the coming years. Tim had a stellar 2011 season, which saw him win the Gardner Clark Medal and make the VFL Team of the Year for the first time. His journey started with the Scorpions at 19 years old and he follows the footsteps of other previous Scorpions, Alex Silvagni and Peter Faulks, who have paved the way for mature aged players to make the grade at AFL level. The Casey Scorpions would like to Congratulate Tim and wish him all the best for the future in his AFL career. |

Tim Mohr Wins 2011 'Gardner Clark' Medal |
|
by KC from Casey
The word on the street is that this year's Gardner Clark Medallist for best and fairest player with the Casey Scorpions, Tim Mohr, is set to become a pioneer with the new Greater Western Sydney Giants franchise which enters the AFL next season.
Former Tasmanian Mohr, who played seven VFL games for the now defunct Tassie Devils before joining the Scorpions in 2008, capped off a great season by winning the club's major award on Friday night with 97 votes to hold off Matthew Bate by 16 votes in a close finish with full forward Brendan Fevola coming in third on 61 votes. The 195cm 98kg key position player has shrugged off injuries from previous seasons and finally had a consistent year, playing mainly in defence although he was occasionally called on to pinch hit in the ruck.

by KC from Casey So yet again a season that promised so much for the Casey Scorpions ends pear shaped after a disappointing finals series with the senior team making a straight sets exit on Saturday, beaten this time by 62 points by the Werribee Tigers. The centre was muddy and it was windy again at TEAC Oval but the conditions could hardly be said to suit either team and yet Casey struggled all day with the ground where they have so often in recent years faced their downfall.
